A Visit to the Edison Estate in Ft. Myers. Edison purchased the 13 acres to build his estate for $1250. The first house to be built was the caretaker cottage. It is now the oldest house in Ft Myers. He wanted this particular acreage as it contained many bamboo trees. Green bamboo was used as the light filament in his light bulbs. His caretaker cottage was the first building and was built of local materials. It is known as a cracker house.

Sorry, I have been very busy lately and not much time for posting. But I decided to take you on a tour of downtown Ft Myers. This is our art district and it is called The River District. It is very up and coming and really a must see and experience. Try it, you'll like it!

Interesting Houses. I was reading a book that included some thoughts on Nathaniel Hawthorne. Which reminded me of these , sketch and two photos I have and thought I would share. The LA house was included because I had it and loved it and thought it tied together with the other.
